Fortress of Santa Bárbara

Santa Bárbara Fortress is the main attraction of the city of Alicante. It is one of the largest medieval structures in Spain that has survived to this day. The fortress literally grows out of the top of the mountain Benacantil at an altitude of 166 meters. The castle is visible from any point of the city, so it is convenient to use it as a landmark. From the observation decks of the fortifications you can enjoy breathtaking panoramas of the colorful streets of Alicante and the azure sea with the port area.
