The trip starts from Pattaya to a place called Kanchanaburi, the journey takes about six hours by tourist bus. Of course, tour companies fill the program with only a few attractions. On the main, the most popular of them is worth to dwell in more detail.

The first number in the list of attractions is the so-called “bridge of death”. During its construction, about a hundred workers died. During World War II, the bridge was destroyed by a bomb shell. It was then rebuilt, and today it is a monument reminding of the heavy consequences of the war.

Not far from the bridge, you can find a curious cave that houses a giant Buddha statue. This place is also one of the most visited among tourists heading to the River Kwai. After the cave, people can see a coconut plantation and a farmer’s house.

.

Next on the itinerary is a visit to the floating market – Damnom Saduak. It can only be reached by boat. Numerous souvenirs, local fruits and vegetables can be purchased from local vendors directly from the boats.

Approaching the destination, tourists may also be encouraged to visit a teak factory. Wealthy guests can purchase handmade furniture, paintings and various decorative items here.

.

Having a little rest after lunch, travelers head to the local nature reserve – Sayoc Yai, refresh themselves in the water of the local waterfall. Next, it is recommended to visit a farm specializing in elephant breeding. The animals can be fed bananas and watch a show with their participation.

.

Finally, tourists arrive at the River Kwai. You can book yourself a bungalow for the night or a room in a floating hotel. Many raft to it on bamboo rafts, and some also swim. A peaceful rest on the riverbank ends the first day of the trip.

On the second day, guests are encouraged to visit the thermal springs of Hang Dat. It is believed that the water in them helps to improve the condition of people who have any problems with the musculoskeletal system. Two pools are open to tourists, the temperature of which is 40-45 degrees. In general, in each of the sources the level of temperature is different, in one it can fluctuate at a mark of only twenty degrees, and the neighboring one – forty.

.

To maximize the effect of this procedure is recommended to immerse in the cold water of the river. To diversify the rest you can visit the shop of the local healer, which is located near the springs. He trades various ointments, mixtures and healing balms. It is worth noting that folk medicine in this country is of sufficient quality, since for the production and sale of harmful or ineffective drugs “healer” can be executed.

.

After lunch, tourists are usually offered to visit a pineapple farm or the Sayoc Noi waterfall. It has an incredibly beautiful view and the water is literally ice cold. The return to the floating hotel on the River Kwai and then to Pattaya takes the second half of the day.
