Museum-estate of S.V. Rachmaninov
The Rachmaninov Estate is the composer’s museum located in the village of Ivanovka, Uvarovsky District, Tambov Oblast, which belonged to his relatives Satin. Ivanovka is the place where S. V. Rachmaninov lived and worked for several months a year, from 1890 to 1917. The great composer, pianist and conductor wrote many works here: 49 romances, 24 preludes, 9 etudes-paintings and 2 sonatas. Today Rachmaninov’s estate has become a place of creative meetings of contemporary musicians from Russia and abroad. Every year at the end of spring, the international Rachmaninoff Music Festival is held here.
