Queen Sirikit Botanical Garden

Queen Sirikit Botanical Gardens is located on two mountains Doi Pui and Doi Suthep in the national park of the same name, 27 km from the northern capital of Chiang Mai. The vegetation-rich mountains provide their own water all year round and provide excellent growing conditions for all kinds of plants.

The Botanical Garden has a very beautiful rock garden and stunning landscape gardens, an arboretum with different species of plants, an extraordinary orchid garden, which contains 500 species of wild orchids native to Thailand (including 60 unique and 20 endangered species). The pavilion with very beautiful lilies and lotuses peacefully resting on the water surface of artificial ponds is very popular among tourists. Some of them reach huge sizes. Unique and unique is the composition with tses, made of fresh flowers, with a rapidly rotating second hand.

The Queen Sirikit Botanical Garden also has a tropical plant store, cacti, orchids and lilies, a museum of rich Thai flora and fauna, a herbarium pavilion with about 15,000 dried plants native to the kingdom, as well as a training center for scientific seminars and its own laboratory for research. Highly qualified specialists are constantly working to protect and study them. An extensive library makes it an ideal place for students of conservation and ecology. The museum is open for public viewing daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

There are three specially designed walking trails in the botanical garden, as well as the opportunity to walk through wild, untouched nature if you feel like it. Due to it being in a National Park, there is nature around the garden rather than a bustling city.

There is a fee to enter the garden. In order to enter its grounds, you will have to pay 100 baht for an adult ticket and 50 baht for a child ticket. There is a different rate for local people. The territory of the park is vast and requires a lot of time to explore. Therefore, it is best to pay 30 baht and use the local bus service to get around the park. First, you will be introduced to the rules of conduct on the territory of the scientific center, followed by a short lecture on the plants of the garden to bring you up to speed.
