Pushkin Moscow Drama Theater
The Pushkin Theater was founded in 1950. The Drama Theater is located in a 17th century mansion on Tverskoy Boulevard in Moscow. On June 18, 1880, the first monument to the great poet was unveiled on the boulevard. Pushkin Theater traces its history back to the Chamber Theater of Alexander Tairov. The first chief director of the theater was Vasily Vanin, People’s Artist of the USSR, three times winner of the Stalin Prize. On October 21, 1950, the premiere of the first play “From the Spark” by Sh. Dadiani, dedicated to the youth of Stalin, took place.
