Baikal National Park
Pribaikalsky National Park stretches along the western coast of Lake Baikal for 470 kilometers. The park covers the southern part of the Olkhinsky Plateau, the eastern slopes of the Primorsky Ridge, enters the Priolkhonsky Plateau (in the Tazheran Steppe) and includes Olkhon Island – the largest island of Lake Baikal. It is in the Pribaikalsky National Park that the largest number of people wishing to visit the lake fall.

Highlights
‘ Olkhon IslandThere are many mountain rivers in the national park. The largest of them are the Goloustnaya, Anga, Buguldeika, Sarma, as well as the Bolshaya Polovinnaya.
Another interesting attraction of the park is the Kruglobaikalskaya railroad, which recently celebrated its 100th anniversary. In the past it was part of the Trans-Siberian Railway, and today it is a unique monument of engineering art and one of the man-made wonders of the Baikal region. The road continues to function in our time.
.‘ In winter, the ice surface of Baikal is pierced by stanovy slits (cracks in the ice). The size of the cracks reaches 30 km in length and 2-3 meters in width. Every year with a deafening crack they are formed in the same place.General information

From Irkutsk to Listvyanka village can be reached by bus or motorboat. The whole route will take about 40 minutes.

On the territory of the Pribaikalsky National Park there are a number of tourist bases and other objects of mass recreation, where you can always stay. Part of the park belongs to the suburban area of Irkutsk.
