Preikestolen
Preikestolen is a large cliff with an almost flat top in the shape of a square with an area of about 625 m². “Preacher’s pulpit” is the literal translation of the name of the cliff. It offers tourists a wonderful view of the surrounding area, which is why it is particularly popular and recognized as the most beautiful place in Norway.

‘ Tourist center (Start of the route)‘ Path to the RockThe ascent to Prekestulen is characterized by many obstacles – the road can be quite dangerous. The path starts at 270 meters above sea level and rises to 604 meters. In order to reach the top of the cliff, it takes only 4 km. At first glance, this distance is negligible, but you should be prepared for several hours. You have to walk on the rocks with the utmost caution – it is quite possible to slip and get injured. Tour guides recommend to wear comfortable sneakers and a sports suit, which will not constrict movements.

Reportedly, tens of thousands of extreme sport enthusiasts have already tried their hand at jumping into the waters of the bay at the bottom of the cliff. You can jump either from the cliff or from the Kjerag plateau, which is located opposite. The latter location is more suitable for skydivers due to the abundance of tourists on Prekestulen. Athletes must follow certain rules to avoid fatalities. To make a jump, you must register on the Stavanger B.A.S.E. website. Klubb, as well as pay a registration fee. Skydivers must certify their own qualifications and experience in writing. More than 250 previous jumps are required, with a minimum of 20 in the last six months. If you do not have enough experience, you will need to take a training course.
