Polenovo Estate
Polenovo Estate is a state memorial historical-art and natural museum-reserve of artist Vasily Dmitrievich Polenov, located in Zaoksky District of Tula Oblast, on the right bank of the Oka River. The house-museum was opened in 1931, today the estate is managed by the artist’s great-granddaughter Natalia Polenova. The Polenovo estate includes a number of buildings that have been well preserved to this day – the Big House, the Abbey (workshop), the Admiralty, the City of Masters, the Cat House, the Prokofiev House and others. There is a park around the estate. Trees in it, as well as all the flower beds around the Big House Polenov planted by his own efforts.
