Ordinskaya cave is the longest underwater cave in Russia and at the same time one of the largest gypsum caves in the world. In Eurasia, it is second only to Optimistic Cave, located in the Ternopil region of Ukraine.

The underwater world of Ordinskaya cave

The water is stunning in its blueness and transparency, the beam of the flashlight goes far beyond 50 meters, lost in the depths. But the diver must move very carefully, so as not to muddy the water, otherwise nothing will be visible and he can lose orientation. The walls are covered with gypsum dust, and at the bottom there is gray silt. On the walls of the cave you can see bokoplava crustaceans and shrimp.

In the Orda Cave there are several halls with above-water space – here you can freely breathe air and rest. In the long, similar to the dark tunnels of the subway there are side branches. Many of them are still unexplored today. The area of underwater lakes, according to some researchers, is about 50 thousand square meters. Cellars, rocks, tunnels, figure eights – the beauty of the underwater kingdom really surpasses all imaginable expectations!

Like all mysterious places, Ordinskaya cave has its own legend – guardian spirit. More precisely, a guardian spirit. Moreover, the girl-diver, who died here in 2009, was trained in a specialized school in Florida. One of the grottos of the dry part of the Orda cave is named in honor of the speleologist who tragically died while exploring underwater caves of the Arkhangelsk region – Vladimir Kiselev.

Today, groups accompanied by experienced leaders descend equipped with the most modern equipment: underwater computers on the arm, back cameras (for balance). How to get to the Ordinskaya cave

Carriers carry heavy equipment into the cave. A metal ladder is installed for descent. Light is brought in. In the cave are wooden benches – you can prepare for the upcoming dive.
