Neskuchny Sad in Moscow

Neskuchny Garden is the oldest public garden in Moscow, located on the right bank of the Moskva River. It is a landscape part of the Gorky Central Park of Culture and Recreation. This is one of the most significant sights of the historical center of the capital. The park occupies more than 59 hectares between the Third Transport Ring and the Green Theater.

.

Interestingly, it was decided to plant the garden on an inconvenient river bank, so every day for two years 700 people worked on leveling the site. The result was a cascade of terraces, where herbaceous plants, trees, shrubs were planted, greenhouses and greenhouses were built, and greenhouses for growing grapes and pineapples were arranged. In addition, the park was equipped with a large lake, as well as a poultry house, for which pets were bought from England and Holland.
