Lake Svityaz
Lake Svityaz is the largest and deepest lake of karst origin in Ukraine, located in Volyn region. Its area is 26.22 km² and its maximum depth reaches 58.4 meters. The lake is a part of the Shatsky Natural National Park. Together with other lakes Svityaz forms a group of Shatsk lakes. In the middle of the lake there is an island with an area of 0.07 km². The relief of the surrounding area favors comfortable recreation. On one side there is a sandy lakeside plain and on the other side there are mixed forests dominated by conifers. Lake Svityaz warms up well in summer and is popular with locals and tourists due to its clear water and gentle sandy bottom.
