Lake Nakuru National Park

Lake Nakuru is located at an altitude of 1,759 meters, within the national park of the same name in Kenya. It has a basin of about 1,800 km², an area of 40 km², and a maximum depth of less than 3 meters. Both Lake Nakuru and the surrounding reserve are a unique natural ecosystem, including hundreds of species of animals and plants. The place is famous all over the world, first of all, because during the peak season more than 1.5 million flamingos and 0.5 million pelicans gather here. At this time, the surface of the shallow lake becomes difficult to see because of the masses of pink color. The area around Lake Nakuru is also quite interesting with a variety of animals including the rare white rhinos.
