Lake Myvatn
Lake Myvatn is located in the north of Iceland in the northern part of the island. It is about 10 km long and about 8 km wide. Lake Myvatn is popular with tourists for its natural beauty and surroundings: desert craters, bubbling mud pools, sulphur deposits and geothermal caves can be seen here. There are more than 50 islands on the lake. Due to the volcanic heat, Mývatn never freezes in some places.
