Lake Bled

Lake Bled, Slovenia’s most visited resort, is located in a deep depression surrounded by the rocky, snow-capped Julian Alps, 50 km northwest of Ljubljana. The jewel of this idyllic setting is the emerald green Lake Bled with a small island, a church and a mountain castle.

Tourism began to develop here from 1855. European aristocrats began to come to the lake for the local thermal springs and the purest Alpine air. Today, tourist buses from all over Europe rush here, but the lake and its surroundings still retain their unique beauty. On the lake you can find hotels for every taste and purse. You can swim in the lake or go boating by renting a boat. Bicycle rides are no less enjoyable. Recently the castle has become a venue for wedding ceremonies.
