Khopersky State Reserve

Khopyorsky Reserve is located in the Voronezh region. It was established on February 10, 1935. The total area of the protected area is 16,178 hectares. The reserve received its name in honor of the river Khopyor – the left tributary of the Don. More than 20 years ago UNESCO recognized this river as the cleanest in Europe. The main pride of the Khopyor Reserve is the Russian vykhukhul. It is a valuable fur-bearing animal, the reserves of which are unrivaled. During the existence of the national park specialists have captured and transferred to new places of residence 2.5 thousand otkhukholes.
