Khao Kad Lookout Tower
Khao Kad Lookout Tower is a great lookout on a green hill overlooking Cape Panwa, in the southeast of Thailand’s Phuket resort. The tower appeared here in 2006. Previously, tourists had to climb a steep path to the top of the hill, and not everyone was able to overcome such a climb in the tropical heat.

General Information
The hill is about 100 meters high. A convenient parking lot is provided at its foot. From here, a wide staircase leads to the Khao Kad Tower. The tower consists of two floors. It rises about 20 meters, so the crowns of the surrounding trees do not interfere with the view of the surrounding area.

To give tourists a better orientation, the tower has eight photo booths with information signed in Thai, Chinese and English. There are benches for those who want to rest. In the early hours, when there are not many tourists at the viewpoint, birds can be heard singing on the hill. Just below the Khao Kad Tower, there are souvenir and refreshment stands and a restaurant where you can have lunch.
.Travelers can visit the observation deck for free. It is open any day from 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

What you can see from the hill
Khao Kad observation tower offers a magnificent circular panorama. From here you can see the whole southeast of the island – the houses of Phuket Town, the picturesque Chalong Bay and the Big Buddha statue, which is 5 kilometers away from the hill. The best views of the streets of the island capital are in the evening, when Phuket Town is lit up with colorful lights.
From the tower you can admire the popular tourist beaches of Rawai and Khao Kad, old tin quarries and the green island of Koh Lon. In the early morning, when visibility is better, from the observation deck you can see the islands of Phi Phi Phi, which are 40 km away from Phuket. It is said that in clear weather, even Krabi can be seen from the top of the hill.
.How to get there
Khao Kad Lookout Tower is located in the southeast of the island. There is no public transportation to it, so tourists get to the observation deck by cab or rented vehicle. If you go from Phuket Town to the Aquarium, then a few kilometers before it, to the right of Sakdidejana Street you can see a hill. In front of it you should turn right and then get to the place, guided by the signs “Khao Khad View Tower”. If the barrier on the road is closed, you should leave your car in front of it and walk the rest of the way.
