Jinnah Mausoleum
Jinnah Mausoleum – the tomb of the founder of Pakistan M.A. Jinnah located in the center of Karachi, is one of the most striking sights of the capital of Pakistan. The structure was erected in the 1960s, but it acquired its modern appearance only in 1970. The mausoleum is made of white marble and is decorated with four Moorish arches serving as entrances.
General information
The highlight of the Jinnah Mausoleum is the huge marble dome that can be seen from anywhere in the city. At the base of the structure is a square, the side of which is 75 meters and the height is 43 meters. The structure is installed on a four-meter platform surrounded by a beautiful park of 53 hectares.

Inside the Jinnah Mausoleum hangs a huge crystal chandelier that was donated by the People’s Republic of China. It also houses the silver framed Muhammad Jinnah Memorial Plate. Thousands of people come to the mausoleum daily to salute the nation’s founding father, as well as to watch the ceremony of the changing of the honor guard.

Currently, this mausoleum is a symbol of Karachi, with another landmark located next to it – the tombs where Liaquat Ali Khan – Pakistan’s first Prime Minister – is buried, as well as Fatima Jinnah – Muhammad’s sister.
