Israel Diamond Exchange

Israel Diamond Exchange is located in the city of Ramat Gan, east of Tel Aviv. It is a private company providing diamond processing and diamond trading services. The Diamond Exchange is housed in a modern complex of 4 buildings. It is also home to the Harry Oppenheimer Diamond Museum. The date of formation of the Israel Diamond Exchange is considered to be December 8, 1937, as on that day the first commercial organization for diamond trading on the territory of the future Israel – the Diamond Club of Palestine – was established. Today the annual turnover of the Diamond Exchange exceeds 22 billion dollars a year. Israeli cutting is rightly considered one of the highest quality in the world. For tourists, a tour of the Diamond Exchange is usually free, as the guides and the company’s management are interested in sales. But you should not neglect it: even if you do not plan to make large purchases, there are interesting stories about the history of the exchange, methods of cutting diamonds and determining the purity of stones.
