Ignatievskaya Cave

Ignatievskaya Cave is located on the bank of the Sim River in the southern part of the Ural Mountains, near the village of Serpievka in the Chelyabinsk region. The large limestone cave is famous among archaeologists and tourists. It is a unique natural gallery, the main exhibits of which are rock paintings of ancient people. Images of animals and everyday scenes were drawn with red ochre on the walls of the cave back in the Paleolithic era. The total length of the passages is 540 meters. Its name Ignatievskaya cave was named after the elder Ignat, who, according to legend, lived here in the XIX century.
