Ein Gedi Nature Reserve

Ein Gedi Reserve is among the most famous national parks in Israel, and the reason for this is obvious. Located on the shores of the Dead Sea, the park occupies a fertile green valley with streams, waterfalls and lakes, which has given shelter to a multitude of animals and plants. Damans and ibex roam the steep slopes, and migratory birds stop in the valley itself during their seasonal migrations.

But the most famous inhabitants of the area are the elusive leopards that live on the cliffs surrounding the valley. Four springs flow into Ein Gedi, forming the heart of the oasis and giving life to the many species of plants that fill the valley. People have long settled in these areas, attracted by the precious moisture.
