Dhaalu Atoll

Dhaalu Atoll is one of the underdeveloped atolls of the Maldives. Tourists will find on the atoll islands pristine tropical nature, amazing sandy beaches and wonderful coral reefs. Here you can go on a bicycle safari, take a boat trip to other islands, go diving or snorkeling. The atoll is home to giant sea turtles.

General Information

Dhaalu Atoll is home to just two charming hotels, Vilu Reef Beach & Spa and Velavaru Island Resort, which strive to create comfort for vacationers, with minimal impact on nature.

There are ruins from the Buddhist period on some of the atoll’s islands, but all are still unexcavated and poorly understood. Mysterious mounds known as “havittas” are located on the island of Kudahuwadhoo. The old mosque on Kudahuwadhoo has unique stonework.

To get to Dhaala from Moscow, one has to take a ten-hour airplane trip to Male Airport. Directly to Dhaalu can be reached by ferry or private plane. Pleasant vacation on the atoll contributes to the climate established here.
