Zhuravilinaya Rodina Wildlife Refuge

Crane Rodina is a state nature reserve located in the Taldomsky and Sergiev Posadsky districts of the Moscow region, on the territory of the Dubna lowland. The area of the park is more than 36,000 hectares. Here are preserved habitats of rare species of animals and plants, stopover sites for waterfowl and cranes on their migration, as well as marshes and lakes of glacial origin, river sources and spruce forests. Every year more than 800 people – scientists, tourists, students, schoolchildren and young naturalists – visit the Crane Homeland in the Moscow region. Here you can relax your body and soul, touch nature, disconnect from the city rhythm and enjoy the clean air and silence, interrupted only by the cry of cranes. The best time to visit the Crane Homeland is from August 20 to September 30, when cranes gather in flocks of several thousand birds and now and then soar into the sky.
