Church of the Resurrection of Christ on Debra
The Church of the Resurrection on Debra is an Orthodox church in Kostroma. It is the only surviving 17th century Posadskaya church in the city. The exact date of its foundation is unknown, it is only established that it was built no later than 1652. According to legend, the Church of the Resurrection on Debra is much older: Prince Vasily Yaroslavovich liked to go hunting in these parts and built a wooden church for his kennels. The church building is cross-domed, without a refectory, 4-columned and 5-domed, with three apses. The church is placed on a basement and surrounded by galleries with porches. The northern side-chapel of the Three Saints with a hill of kokoshniks is single-domed. Its interior is the most ancient and integral.
