Cave City of Chufut-Kale
The Cave City of Chufut-Kale is a real treasure trove for archaeologists and tourists in Crimea. The medieval city-fortress rises on a mountain plateau, 2.5 kilometers east of Bakhchisarai. The rocky slopes are quite steep, only on one side of the flat top there is a pedestrian path. The fortress of Chufut-Kale is located at an altitude of 600 meters above sea level. Well-preserved internal and ground constructions of Chufut-Kale are like a stone book of history. By the types of buildings and clear layout can easily determine all periods of development of the city, its ups and downs, as well as the predominance of ethnic groups that lived here.
