Carriacou Island

Carriacou is an island within Grenada, located northeast of the mainland, interesting for its history and mixed population of Scottish-African descent, as well as its diverse attractions and local festivities.

General information

Also called Reef Country, Carriacou is the largest of the island group despite covering an area of only 33 square kilometers. Carriacou is bustling with life, where you can satisfy your thirst for adventure or relax for the day with a leisurely pace of life.

Dive in the crystal clear waters, snorkel, scuba dive, enjoy the diversity of one of the Caribbean’s cleanest areas or just spend the day lounging on the stunning beaches of Anse La Roche, Paredo Beach or Sandy Island. There are restaurants and bars on every corner, so you won’t go hungry – be sure to try the local Maroon cuisine, particularly the rice and corn with stewed meat and peas cooked over an open wood fire.
