Children’s Camp Artek
Camp Artek is an international children’s sanatorium located in the village of Gurzuf, on the South Coast of Crimea. Artek was the most famous pioneer camp of the USSR, a symbol of the pioneers. The recreation center was established in 1925 on the initiative of Zinovy Petrovich Solovyov, chairman of the Russian Red Cross Society. Artek has everything that children can dream of. Its area is 200 hectares, half of which is occupied by parks and other green spaces. There are more than 40 studios of scientific, technical and creative orientation, there are tennis courts, rope parks, climbing walls, gyms and a stadium for 7000 people.
