Boqueria Market (Mercat de la Boqueria)
Boqueria Market is a real realm of tastes, smells, sounds and colors that has become one of Barcelona’s favorite tourist attractions because of its atmosphere. It is located in the sub-district of El Raval, near the entrance from the Rambla. The market building covers an area of 2,583 m² and is constructed of glass and steel and decorated with mosaics. The Boqueria Market was first mentioned in 1217, when tables for the sale of meat were set up near the former Boqueria city gate.
