Bali Sea

Bali is an inter-island sea of the Pacific Ocean between the eastern tip of Java Island and the islands of Bali, Lombok, Sumbawa, Sulawesi and Madura.

Area 40 thousand km², average depth 411 m, maximum depth 1590 m (Bali Trough).

Water temperature 27-28°C. Salinity 33.0-34.0‰. The bottom is lined with sediments that contain a lot of volcanic tuff. The tides are mixed, their height is up to 1.7 m. On the islands framing the sea from the south, there are several large volcanoes: Batur (last eruption in 1926), Agung (erupted in 1964), Tambora and others.
